FRESHNESS INSTRUCTION
1 Flowers in a vase: what to do to make them stand longer?
Before placing a bouquet of flowers in a vase, shorten the stems a bit. Do this with a sharp knife, preferably under water so that air does not get into the stems. Also remove the lower leaves so that they do not rot in the water. If the flowers have woody stems, such as hydrangeas, lilac – cut the ends in half. The cut should be about 2 cm long.
Add cut flower food to the water. You can buy it at a garden store or florist. It disinfects water, reduces the growth of bacteria and keeps it clean for several days.
Better put the bouquet in a vase that is too large than too small. Cut flowers wilt faster when they are pressed into a vessel. Remove the decorative paper and free the raffia from the bouquet.
The bouquet should not be in the sun, in a draft or near heating or air conditioning devices, ripening fruit. Wilted flower petals should be removed.
2 Flowerbox: how to care for flowers in a box?
The flower stalks are placed in a special sponge that saturates the flowers with moisture.
The moisture from the sponge will gradually evaporate and should not be allowed to dry out. Check that the special floristic sponge has not dried out. In order to moisturize the sponge, water must be added gradually to allow the sponge time to absorb the moisture.
We pour cold water from both sides, be careful, because there is a risk of flooding the box with improper care. You can also sprinkle crushed ice.
The bouquet should not be in the sun, in a draft or near heating or air conditioning devices. Due to the large loss of moisture, even the most fresh flowers wilt immediately. The optimal option will be to store the bouquet in a cool place. Wilted flower petals should be removed.
If there is a hydrangea flower in the bouquet, he is very picky. Hydrangeas have a lot of water and are best sprayed with extra water.
In order for the flower arrangement to retain its original appearance as long as possible, you need to properly care for the bouquet.
